This is JT blogging to you today. Above are some pictures of part of our Saturday together. It was an official "date day" for Nat and I. We started the day by visiting the Met Museum which you can see in some of the pictures. They had some really cool exhibits from ancient Egypt and Europe that we really enjoyed. After the museum, Natalie and I walked over to Central Park and hung out with thousands of our closest friends!

For dinner we visited Bar Americain. It is one of Bobby Flay's restaurants- a favorite chef of Natalie's. The food was phenomenal. We had crab cakes, tuna, asparagus and french fries.

Today, Natalie and I participated in the Hope and Possibility 5 mile race in Central Park. It is a race for able bodied and disabled athletes. It was amazing to run with numerous soldiers who were double amputees and still finished the 5 miles. I am continually impressed by the character of our military men and women. There were also many other people in wheelchairs and assisted by seeing-eye dogs. Needless to say, I dared not complain when I got a slight cramp in my calf during the last up-hill climb.

I am running in the NYC Half-Marathon in five weeks. My training is going well. I do not know how smart it was to sign up for a marathon in NYC in July!.! The training can be brutal sometimes. However, I really enjoy running and it keeps me in shape.

I hope you are all doing well. We would love to hear from you. Drop us an email or a reply on the blog.

It has been saying it is going to storm all day. Guess what, nothing yet.... Yesterday it said the humidity was going to be 57%, but when JT and my friend Lindsey ran the five mile race at 8:30am yesterday, the humidity was 94%. Ouch! Someone, ie NYC meteorology and weather.com, need to revamp their predictions. Like I said, JT and Lindsey ran a five mile race yesterday morning. Lindsey's husband, Brad, and I went to Starbucks in the mean time. (I am going to run the one next week.) I was very proud of him and the strong race he ran.

For all of you from Louisville, especially JT's Portland people.... We went to a different church last night with Lindsey and Brad called The Gallery church. The pastor's name was Aaron Coe. He is from Louisville and played basketball at Highview Baptist against JT when they were in high school. How crazy is that???? And on top of it, we really enjoyed the service and will definitely go back.

Well, I am going to go finish watching the 18th hole of the Tiger Woods vs Rocco Mediate playoff! Have a great week!

Hi everyone. I do not have much new to add today. I am doing radiology now.... Kind of boring just sitting in a room with other students and looking at films. Being a radiologist would be great for the amount of work to pay ratio, but the job would get a bit monotonous. I went to the city afterwards with my friend Lindsey. We read/studied at Barnes and Noble in Union Square. Weather-wise today was a much better day. Granted it still reached the low 90s but the humidity was better. JT is running a 5 miler this weekend at Central Park. Run for Prostate cancer..... he said the website indicated free prostate screening would be available after the race. I had to reassure in they would do urine or blood test and doubted that digital rectal exams would be performed at 63rd and Central Park West at 930am on a Sunday. Anyways, that is all the plans we have for the weekend. Nothing too exciting. I am going to go watch the Cubs now! I hope everyone has a great rest of the week. We miss everyone at home and look forward to being back very soon.

I know, I know, there are a ton of pictures. JT's mom and dad were here from last Wednesday until this morning so we did a lot of tourist activities. This does lend for great pictures. JT finally got to go to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. He took some great pictures....I can't take credit for any pictures, well of course, the one of us too I took.... IT was a lot of fun. We took them to see Grease on Broadway. It did not rain, which was great, but Saturday and Sunday were scorchers..... much like today. I hope you enjoy all of the pictures....this is just a small sampling.

In other news, my step-dad Bob has been sick this last week and just let out of the hospital. So please say a prayer for him. I would really appreciate the prayers for him and so would my mom.

I am starting another rotation this week. I was actually supposed to start Hematology/Oncology. But I was informed this morning when I got there that it started last week and I could only start on the first Monday of the month....Which blows because I really like the doctor and now I can't do it. I was able to fix it... I am doing two weeks of radiology at a hospital here in Queens instead. It is nice that my friend Lindsey will being the rotation as well. I may have to fill in two more weeks before I start OB... I may do Anesthesia....Gosh, it is just too much. Sometimes I just wish I could be finished or have chosen something similar but I know I will not regret the hard work and headaches.

Well, I hope everyone has a great week.

Hello! What a beautiful day it is here! It was about eighty, with sunshine and a slight breeze. We found out today that JT was accepted to run the Nike half marathon here in NYC. What do I mean by "accepted"? Because so many people want to run it and other races in general, they have open registration and then a lottery. I did not get picked but he did. That works out better for me because I would prefer to cheer him on and do my own work out at the gym. Speaking of which, he is out running right now. I am watching House Hunters.... what a life.
(the picture is from the last half marathon) Don't think I am lazy; I went to the gym today. This is my week off following the psychiatry rotation.... Don't we all need a mental health vacation, especially after doing a psychiatry rotation. JT's parents are coming Wednesday morning so I have been preparing for it. Anways! I just wanted to post quickly! Have a great week.
