"There are three types of people in this world: those who make things happen, those who watch things happen and those who wonder what happened."
Here are some pictures Vidya took at the football game Friday night. Because Angie's camera is broken and so is JT's, NO COMMENT, I have yet to load the pictures I took. So hers will have to suffice for now.....her pictueres are great, though. As you can tell from the excitement, our team won. I did not get to play because of my knee but it was a lot of fun cheering for everyone. My girl Lindsey had four interceptions and Angie had one interception and returned it for a touch down....I was able to say "those are my room mates" because Lindsey is here as much as Ang.
Well, i need to go study and write a paper.. Have a good day!

Eunice and MeWherever you go, go with all your heart. - Confucius
Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good example. - Mark Twain
So an annoying good example is the fact that both Eunice and I are injured from football practice and now can't play. Therefore, we are learning a hard lesson sitting on the sidelines and watching.....
Today we had an amazing surgical day and another one to follow tomorrow. I want to post about it when I can show the pictures too...I know you all will enjoy. JT went to the hospital today....it was quite an experience.
Well, I am going to go. I do enjoy the quotes, whoever is sending them. I wish other people would post!!! Love you guys

"All your life you are told the things you cannot do. All your life they will say you're not good enough or strong enough or talented enough; they will say you're the wrong height or the wrong weight or the wrong type to play this or be this or achieve this. THEY WILL TELL YOU NO, a thousand times no, until all the no's become meaningless. All your life they will tell you no, quite firmly and very quickly. AND YOU WILL TELL THEM YES." (from my friend Lindsey)
Again, I am updating as promised. I am keeping my promises so you all can now leave just a few comments....speaking of comments...What beautiful person left me the happiness quotes. I absolutely love quotes, which you all know. So I was so excited to see the quotes left for me. So please reveal yourself.
Things are still good here. I hurt my knee a little last night at flag football practice but it will be fine. Practice was fun until that happened. We also had ward rounds yesterday. We found out that we get to do surgery on Wednesday and Thursday. There is an amputation and an open reduction of a fracture on Wed....not good for the patients, I realize, but interesting for us to see nevertheless.
Well, I may add more later but now I am going to eat blueberry muffins JT has fixed!!!

JT and ME

Greg and Laurel at Blue Bay dinner
"Be not angry that you cannot make others as you wish them to be since you cannot make yourself as you wish to be. "
In effort to be a better blogger, I am again updating though not much has happened. I had a relaxed and laid back weekend. I studied and chilled with JT and practiced football and went to church. JT cooked dinner for Laurel, Greg, Linds, Angie, and me last night. It was fabulous spaghetti with meat sauce and yummy garlic bread.
I am now at the hospital getting ready for my rotations. I am going to interview a patient in just a second. I just wanted to take a moment to say Hello. Have a great week!

I started my surgery rotation this week. Of course, I love it thus far. We have one more week of it. On Thursday, we were in the surgical theatre and got to scrub in and assist with surgery. Lisa helped performed a circumcision; Laurel drained an abscess and helped with a prostate removal; I closed to direct hernia incisions. The next day we saw 40 patients in the outpatient clinic. I enjoy it so much but it is truly exhausting. It is just a glimpse of the profession I have chosen.
Unfortunately I was stung Monday by a jelly fish. I had a really bad reaction and had to go to the hospital for a steroid shot. It was the worst pain I have ever had. Then, two days later Eunice dislocated her finger resulting in a chipped bone while we were playing flag football. It was not a great week in that regards for either of us....painful to say the least.
Friday was my last night of basketball. It was kind of sad for me because it has been one of the things I have looked forward to each Friday since second semester. It was funny though, because there was hardly anyone there. Nevertheless, we had a lot of fun and played hard.
Anyways, I hope that you all of you have a good weekend. I will try to be better about posting!

These are pictures from my friends in Miami and a few random ones from here in Dominica. I do not have my 4th of July pictures loaded yet. Once I do, I plan to share them as well. I am so excited that JT is coming on Tuesday. I have so much planned for his visit on top of school commitments and studying. We are going to snorkel, hike, tour the island, play basketball, and much more. I am very anxious and happy to see my best friend. I have missed him so much over the last year and a half and can't wait for Tuesday....I hope you enjoy the pictures and my thoughts from today. Aunt Kathy, I am still waiting on reunion pictures. OHHHH, so I have updated the template on my blog. I want some feedback....Do you like or not? I wanted to get a fancier one but I am incapable of designing or downloading one.....so if anyone is gifted in that way....let me know.

Me and linds
These are some other pictures from our hike and Angie's birthday. I am getting ready to leave for the hospital. I have to ride the hot bus because I am not with my group for this week.....It is unfortunate because my hair looks really good day....I got it really straight. As soon as the HOT, sticky wind hits it, who knows what will happen. At least I know now that it is possible for future occasions. JT is coming a week from today. I can not wait to see my husband. I love him so much and not to mention he is my best friend. I can not wait to see and hang out with him. I hope every one has a great day.

Lindsey, Me and Laurel at Fusion
Me, Lindsey, and Angie at ribs
Me and Greg, my dive instructor at Ribs
Hello Everyone! These are pictures are from last night at Angie's birthday party. Lindsey, Laurel, Greg, and me took Angie out to ribs and Fusion to celebrate her birthday....Dominica style. I hope you enjoy the pictures....Speaking of pictures. My family reunion was last weekend and I am waiting for my Aunt Kathy to email me pictures...hint hint. My mom and Bob are still on their European cruise....my dad is enjoying his boat after hard days of remodeling his new office....Gretchen is working and house sitting....AND JT is visiting in a week and two days!!!!! So things are good in my world right now. I have just been very busy and tired with rotations and my midterm exam. Next week we are in Advanced Cardiac Life Support Training....aka "the Paddles". After that I have my much anticipated surgical rotation. I will be home in the first week of August only to go back to Dallas for a USLME step 1 review course.
Well, I am using Laurel's computer because mine is still out of commission. We are hanging out so I am going to go! Love you guys and hope to hear from you soon....AUNT KATHY, I will be looking for those pictures.

Here are some more pictures from our hike on Saturday. Lisa and Tiffany took these pictures.... I am uploading them from my friend Lindsey's computer because mine is still not functional. My mom and Bob just left for their cruise and Rome....I am jealous I must say. I am still on my two week psychiatric rotation. It is quite exhausting but enjoyable nevertheless.
I hope things are going well at home. I hope to hear from you all soon.

Happy Fathers Day to all of the fathers in my life.....specifically my dad and to bob. I miss you guys so much. Also my Granpa Stewart and Jimmy, Jt's dad. Happy Father's day to JT because we do have a child....a very spoiled little dog.
The pictures are from our all day trip yesterday. We went to three sites and saw four water falls. The first and most difficult was Riviere Cyrique. You have to climb down the side of the mountain using ropes and vines and one very unsturdy ladder. Thank God none of us got hurt....And also thank God for the shear beauty of it. It was so amazingly beautiful with the waterfull dumping onto the black sand of the Atlantic Ocean. It was so much fun....the entire day was a blast. We swam at each waterfall, all of which were frigid but refreshing. Angie's, my roomie, family is here....her brother, sister in law and sis so they went with us as well. I just really loved it and had so much fun and finished the day with a great Bible study meeting.
I am sorry I have been bad at keeping up my blog. Now my computer is messed up so it is even more difficult. Hope to hear from you guys soon!! Love ya
